The Trial
A lawyer ready to die takes one final case...the trial of his life.
Attorney Kent "Mac" MacClain has nothing left to live for. Nine years after the horrific accident that claimed the life of his wife and two sons, he’s finally given up. His empty house is a mirror for his empty soul, it seems suicide is his only escape. And then the phone rings.
Angela Hightower, the beautiful heiress and daughter of the most powerful man in Dennison Springs, has been found dead at the bottom of a ravine. The accused killer, Peter Thomason, needs a lawyer. But Mac has come up against the Hightowers and their ruthless, high-powered lawyers before -- an encounter that left his practice and reputation reeling.
The evidence pointing to Thoomason’s guilt seems insurmountable. Is Mac definding an ingenious psychopath, or has Thomason been framed--possibly by a member of the victim’s family? It comes down to one last trial. For Thomason, the opponent is the electric chair. For Mac, it is his own tormented past--a foe that will prove every bit as deadly.

Final Solution
The indoctrination of Gerrit Woldfaardt (Jan Ellis) is complete: his family traditions, history, culture - even his church - have taught him that black South Africans are a cancer. Under the eye of prominent members of the government and military, Gerrit develops a diabolical plan to rid South Africa of its "black danger". Before his plans can be carried out, he meets two people who put him on a collision course with his future: Celeste (Liezel van der Merwe), an open-minded university student, and Peter Lekota (John Kani), a pastor who challenges Gerrit’s prejudice.
His "final solution" meets its greatest obstacle when Gerrit himself realized he was wrong. The Persecutor became the Peacemaker and began to seek reconciliation between whites and blacks. However, in the turbulent last days of apartheid, there were those who doubt his transformation. One such person was Moses Moremi (Mpho Lovinga), whom Gerrit had once violently attacked. In the film’s dramatic conclusion, it is Moses who must choose between peace and bloodshed.
Based on a true story, this remarkable film features an exceptional international cast, including Tony Award® winner John Kani.
Cast: Jan Ellis, John Kani, Liezel van der Merwe.
